DAY 1

Argentina Hidden Patagonia

 

Upon arrival in Los Antiguos, a very small village close to the Chilean border, you will be met at the bus terminal and transferred to Antigua Patagonia Hostelry on a private transfer with Spanish/English speaking Driver/Guide. The hostelry is located by the shores of the famous Lago Buenos Aires, the second largest lake in South America after the Titicaca. The waters of this lake are deep blue in contrast with the snow covered Andes.

Overnight at Antigua Patagonia Hostelry.

DAY 2

After an early breakfast, departure along the mythical National Route 40 towards “Cueva de Las Manos” visiting the impressive canyon with the caves of “painted hands”. Continue down to Lago Posadas.  This small village is situated quite near to the lakes Posadas and Pueyrredón, which are divided by a thin isthmus. One lake is deep blue and the other one is turquoise. With the surrounding mountains this is a unique wild landscape!

Overnight at Posadas Del Posadas or similar.

DAY 3

Argentina Hidden Patagonia

After an early breakfast, you will departure towards Cochrane, where you will be arriving late in the afternoon.  When we descend to Cochrane, we will see a complete change of eco‐system as we enter the so called Valdivian Rainforest, an area of dense woods and rainforest vegetation. 

Overnight at El Ultimo Paraiso Hostelry or similar.

DAY 4

Argentina Hidden Patagonia

 

Today, we will drive along the most spectacular scenery of the whole Carretera Austral. Following the Rio Baker we will arrive to Puerto Bertrand in one of the valleys.  Then we continue to one of the most incredible places in Chile, called Las Capillas de Marmol (the marble caves). This is a small peninsula of marble stone where the waters of the Buenos Aires have carved different caves and wholes with unique shapes. The tour finishes with the arrival in Puerto Tranquilo, a picturesque small village, where you will overnight.

Overnight at Hostal El Puesto or similar.

DAY 5

Continue along the Carretera Austral across the Andes. We will see the Hudson Vulcano and the Cerro Castillo National Reserve. Upon arrival in Balmaceda, you will be dropped off at the airport for the afternoon flight to Puerto Montt or Santiago de Chile.
