AMAZON AND PANTANAL OF MATO GROSSO 8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS

DAY 1 - CUIABA

Arrival at Cuiaba’s airport. Reception and transfer to Verona Park Hotel. Welcome drink. Dinner and overnight.( , , D)

DAY 2 - CUIABA - AMAZON RAIN FOREST

After breakfast, departure North to the Amazon Rain Forest.  Lunch on the way at local styled restaurant. Check in at Jardim d’Amazonia Lodge. Welcome drink at the mineral water swimming pool. Dinner.  After dinner a short walk around the lake to get familiar with the sounds of the Amazonian rain forest. Overnight. (B, L, D)

DAY 3 - AMAZON RAIN FOREST

After breakfast, birding walk along the Angelim Trail to observe wildlife (Pará oropendula, solitary black cacique, blue-crowned motmot, black tailed trogon and more). Lunch at the lodge.   In the afternoon floatation and snorkeling in natural spring water pool where you can swim among different fishes from the region. Sunset at the “arara lagoon”.

DAY 4 - AMAZON RAIN FOREST

After breakfast, amazing trails will take you deep into the Forest, which will bring you in contact with the fauna and flora.  The walk will be followed by boat trip on the River Claro, exploring the Anaconda Lake and stopping for swimming on the Palmeira beach.

Picnic lunch and nap in hammocks in the forest. After lunch, canoe down the Claro River, enjoying the solitude of the jungle and its different life forms: Amazon kingfisher, green and rufous kingfisher, swallow tanager, herons, and more…Dinner and overnight at Jardim da Amazonia Lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 5 - AMAZON RAIN FOREST - PANTANAL

After breakfast, departure to Pantanal. Lunch in local style restaurant. Enjoy the scenic drive and observe the transition of the Amazon rain forest to Pantanal.  While driving along the Transpantaneira park road, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local fauna and flora.  Arrival at Araras Eco Lodge, check-in followed by welcome drink.

Hike through surrounding area to 25 m high observation tower where you have a great chance of meeting the howler monkeys, the largest primates of our forest. Sunset at tower. Dinner and overnight at Araras Eco Lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 6 - PANTANAL LOWLANDS

After breakfast, travel by vehicle to Rio Clarinho, where you will explore by canoes it’s margins, boarding forest and mangroves.  With luck, you may find the giant river otter that inhabits these waters. Have fun fishing for piranha and dogfish. Barbecue lunch at picnic site.   In the afternoon return to the lodge to enjoy sunset. After dinner, night walk to observe the South Hemisphere sky, hear and feel the nocturnal environment. Overnight at Araras Eco lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 7 - PANTANAL LOWLANDS

After breakfast, exploring activity starts with horseback riding in Pantanal style trough the fields, woods and waters of our private reserve.  After lunch, hiking on the trails, accompanied by our guide for observation and interpretation of the ecosystem. Dinner followed by night safari to observe the nocturnal environment and animals as the tapir, crab-eating fox, raccoon that may be in the vicinity of the Transpantaneira Park road.

DAY 8 - PANTANAL - CUIABA

Awakening before sunrise following the season’s rhythm, for a dawn walk.  Enjoy the symphony of colors and sounds of the local wildlife. After breakfast, free time to enjoy by yourself around the lodge
