Costa Rica Coast to Coast

Day 1 – Arrival at San Jose. Hotel Grano de Oro , Standard

Welcome to Costa Rica!!! Arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport. After passing through Immigration you will be met by one of our representatives. He will take you to your hotel and give you your welcome kit. Overnight in San Jose City at Hotel Gran Oro

Day 2 – Car pick up and self drive to Puerto Viejo. Accommodations at Cariblue Hotel std deluxe a/c

The town of Puerto Viejo is rustic and charming. Puerto Viejo is renowned for its beautiful beaches. The harbor after which Puerto Viejo is named is calm and peaceful, with beautiful still blue waters and inviting shores. Several bars and discos are located right on the beach, making this a great spot to hang out at night. Puerto Viejo has managed to maintain its small-town atmosphere and rustic local appeal. The atmosphere is laid back and slow paced.

Day 3 Free day at Puerto Viejo. Accommodation at Cariblue Hotel

Day 4 – Self-drive to Arenal Volcano Area. Accommodation at Montaña de Fuego, Deluxe

Moving through the valleys of the agriculturally rich Northern Zone up through San Carlos and into the towering rain forest, this is one of the most inviting regions in Costa Rica.

Day 5 – Free day at Arenal Volcano. Montaña de Fuego

Day 6 – Self-drive to Rincon de la Vieja, Borinquen Bungalow deluxe

The climate in this national park is so diverse that areas with a severe dry season lasting 4 or 5 months are immediately followed by others, near the summit or on the Caribbean side, where there is constant rainfall, which gives rise to a forest mass rich in epiphytes. The differences in altitude and climate play an important role in the distribution of the flora and fauna. Resident species include the resplendent quetzal, three-wattles bellbirds, morpho butterflies, tapir, coatimundis and three kinds of monkeys.

Day 7 – Rincón de la Vieja. Hotel Borinquen

You´ll have the day to enjoy all the splendors the national park has to offer. Beginning on the flanks of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, the park includes the volcano's active crater. You may enjoy many outdoor activities such as Natural Hot Spring Pools, Forest Hikes, Thermal Sauna, ATV Safari's, Mud Bath, Canopy Tour, Horse-back Rides etc. Included: Spa (hot springs, mud, pools)

Day 8- Self drive to Samara Beach. Hotel Las Ranas Lodge.

Playa Samara is one of the nicest beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Not only is it a wide and beautiful, sandy beach but it is also very safe for swimming as there is a coral reef protecting the coast from waves and currents. Snorkeling, windsurfing and diving are some of the popular water sport activities available in this area.

Day 9 Free day at Samara Beach. Hotel Las Ranas Lodge

You will have another day to enjoy the splendor of Samara beach. Even though Sámara is somewhat secluded, you can find and buy anything you might need during your stay. There are restaurants and a few shops as well as a number of tour options.

Day 10.- Self-drive to Monteverde Cloudforest. Accommodation at Fonda Vela jr suite room

Monteverde translates as "green mountain," and that's exactly what you'll find at the endb of the steep and windy rutted dirt road that leads here. Founded in the 1950's by a group of Quakers from the U.S., Monteverde has gained international renown as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics.

Day 11.- Free day at Monteverde Fonda Vela.

You will have a free day to explore this incredible sanctuary. There are at least 400 bird species in this high elevation rain forest, including the Resplendent Quetzal, ancient holy bird of the Mayans, over 100 species of mammals, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles and an estimated 2,500 species of plants making Monteverde a true "nature lover's paradise". Delicate orchids, more than 400 species, grace the limbs of majestic trees. Their captivating colors of whites, lilacs, and yellows contrast with the emerald green of the forest.

Day 12 – Self-drive (or transfer) to Manuel Antonio. Hotel Parador, Jungle room

Manuel Antonio National Park with an extension of almost 1,800 acres attracts the visitor with gorgeous hiking trails through abundant, tropical jungle that borders white sand beaches and blue-green waters..

Day 13 – Manuel Antonio. Hotel Parador, Jungle room.

You will have the day to explore everything the park has to offer. The evergreen fascinating forest is the home of about 100 species of mammals and 180 kinds of birds. A hiking trail through dense vegetation all around the cape enables one to catch the beautiful sight of 12 smaller islands just in front of it. A splendid combination of nature experience and beach fun.

Day 14 – Manuel Antonio, Hotel Parador, Jungle room.

Your accommodations for the duration of you stay in Manuel Antonio are at the elegant Mediterranean-styled architecture and decor of Hotel El Parador. It has harmoniously combined with the trimmings of traditional Spanish government-sponsored inns called "paradors" and the sophisticated atmosphere of Central European "boutiques hôtels." All this in the midst of exotic tropical gardens inhabited by colorful birds, fascinating iguanas, playful monkeys, with the backdrop of golden sunsets and warm hospitality. Beach at 5 minutes and free shuttle transportation available.

Day 15 – Self-drive to San Jose, car drop off. Accommodation at Country Inn & Suites jr suite

Day 16 – Transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport.
