Travel Around Costa Rica

Day 1: ARRIVAL TO COSTA RICA

Our staff is prepared to welcome you at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Once you are in the luggage room, you will be identified by a staff member carrying a board with your name.  You will received your welcome package and will be transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: POÁS VOLCANO AND LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS

After breakfast, we will depart to Poás Volcano Nacional Park. During this trip we will visit Alajuela where you can be impressed by coffee plantations and Cattle farms. At the Volcano, we will visit the crater and Botos Lagoon. Then we will head to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where we will visit the magnificent waterfalls Templo, Magia Blanca, Encantada and La Paz.

Day 3: SAN JOSÉ –TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK

We’ll leave quite early today to head towards the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. We will pass by the Braulio Carrillo National Park, considered one of the most beautiful parks in our country.  We will stop for breakfast in Guapilés and the will continue our adventure to the port, where we will board a boat and will travel along the Tortuguero Canals until we reach our final destination.

Day 4: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK

In the morning, after breakfast, we will take a hiking trip on the natural tracks, where we will get close to the surrounding forest and learn about its species, plants and inhabitants. Then enjoy a relaxing boat tour along the backwater canals will let us discover the wildlife that resides in the area. During turtle nesting season (From July to September) an optional & extra cost night tour is available to observe this magnificent event.

Day 5: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK –ARENAL

After breakfast, we will be transferred by boat to Caño Blanco.  After our arrival in Guapilés, lunch will be served and we will then be transported to Arenal.

After checking into the hotel you will have the rest of the afternoon to explore.  We recommend a visit to the Tabacón Resort, where you can enjoy a dip in the thermal pools. If the weather allows, we may see one of Arenal Volcano´s frequent explosions.

Day 6: ARENAL

Breakfast. In the afternoon, guided walk to Arenal Volcano and later a delicious dip in the thermal pools of Tabacón, where you can relax and rest in a natural paradise, while you enjoy the activity of our important Arenal Volcano. 

Day 7: ARENAL –MONTEVERDE

After breakfast we will depart for Monteverde, famous for its cloud forest and an impressive biodiversity. Monteverde Reserve, located at more than 1400 meters above sea level is the home of one of the most exotic birds: The Quetzal.

Day 8: MONTEVERDE

Today, an exciting tour awaits us: Selvatura Skywalk and Canopy tour. You will feel like you´re walking in the air.  We will walk on suspension bridges and admire the surrounding forest. Every shade of green in the cloud forest is represented, and the variety of flora is truly amazing. –If we are lucky we might also see the magnificent and famous Quetzal and some other mammals. There are 8 bridges that go from 50 to 170 meters at altitudes between 12 and 60 meters from the ground.

Day 9: MONTEVERDE-MANUEL ANTONIO / GUANACASTE

 Breakfast.  Today you will be transfered to the majestic beaches of the Pacific coast.  You can choose between Manual Antonio and Guanacaste.

Day 10: DAY AT LEISURE ON THE BEACH

Day 11: RETURN TO SAN JOSÉ

Alter breakfast we will be transfer back to San José, home to over one third of all Ticos, will give you an insight into the true character of the nation. The city's markets are colorful and vibrant, and its nightlife is as sophisticated (or as debauched) as you want it to be.

San José is also home to a number of galleries and museums, and there are a few neighborhoods in the city still radiating colonial style. The assault on the senses that is Chepe is perhaps your best opportunity for understanding the complexities of modern-day Costa Rica.

Day 12: DEPARTURE FROM COSTA RICA

After a final breakfast you will be transferred to Juan Santamaría International Airport to take your flight back home.
