Costa Rica Volcanoes and Adventure

Day 1: ARRIVAL TO COSTA RICA

Our staff is prepared to welcome you at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Once you are in the luggage room, you will be identified by a staff member carrying a board with your name. You will receive your welcome package and will be transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: ADVENTURE 2DAYS/ 1 NIGHT AT PACUARE RIVER

Travel to one of the most spectacular white water rivers in the world and enjoy its natural wonders and also the maximum comfort and service of the well known Pacuare Lodge. Cuddle yourself with gourmet food in a candle light environment, explore the hidden treasures of the jungle and conquered the exciting river rapids at Pacuare River (IIIIV).

Day 3: SECOND SECTION PACUARE RIVER

You will be awakened by our song birds and the soft sound of the river nearby. After your delicious breakfast, you´ll start your adventure in the river ( lasts approximately three and a half hours in III- IV rapids), including a picnic style lunch. After this adventure, you will have the opportunity to change clothes in their facilities before your trip back to your hotel.

Day 4: REGULAR SHUTTLE TO ARENAL

After breakfast we will depart towards Arenal, home of one of our most important attractions: Arenal Volcano. You’ll enjoy the amazing landscape and the typical countryside houses. You’ll be able to hear the volcano rumbling and if we’re lucky, and the sky is clear, we will be able to see lava snaking down, like fireworks!

Day 5: REGULAR HORSEBACK RIDING TOUR TO LA FORTUNA WATERFALL

Enjoy this natural swimming pool at the base of La Fortuna Waterfall. During the tour, you will see Costa Rica´s landscape, cattle faros, agriculture andyoumay see a variety of birds such as toucans. Then we will continue our tour to the waterfall.

Day 6: REGULAR SHUTTLE TO RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA

Today we will travel in a regular shuttle to a place ideal for tourists that love adventure. Rincón de la Vieja Volcano is an active volcano located northeast of Liberia, in Guanacaste.  Here you can find natural thermal pools, rivers, crystal clear waterfalls, and wonderful forests that are home of a wide variety of species such as: mammals, reptiles, insects and birds.

Day 7: DAY AT LEISURE AT RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA

You have the day at your leisure to enjoy as many activities as you can. You may choose between horseback riding, biking tours, canopy tour, tubing adventure at Río Negro, or walks to the active craters of Volcán de la Vieja Volcano.

Day 8: REGULAR SHUTTLE TO TAMARINDO

Today we are going to travel to Tamarindo, a town that offers a fusion of splendid beaches, warm ocean breeze, great hotels and restaurants and a very important night life.

Day 9: DAY AT LEISURE IN TAMARINDO

You will have  the whole day to yourself  with a variety of activities to choose from.  You can choose from surfing, kayaks, fishing, doing a romantic cruise along the coast, diving, horseback riding, or biking to something more ecological like a trip to National Parks located around the area or visiting nearby towns and craft markets.

Day 10: REGULAR SHUTTLE TO SAN JOSÉ

We will leave this beautiful region to head back to San José. Rest of the afternoon and night are free.  You may enjoy a great night dancing, a restaurant, shopping or just enjoying our capital at night.

Day 11: DEPARTURE

The transfer out will take you back to Juán Santamaría International Airport. Airlines request that passengers arrive to the airport at least 3 hours before their flight leaves the country. Today we say good bye hoping your trip was delightful and that you may return to our country. We will be glad to help you again on your next visit.
