Falkland Islands - Sea Lion Island

Saturday

Arrive at Mount Pleasant International Airport via LAN Chile. Transfer overland to Stanley, the islands capital, for 1 nights accommodation. Local B&B or hotel accommodation available.

Sunday

Transfer to Stanley Airport for internal FIGAS (Falkland Islands Government Air Service) flight to Carcass Island. 2 nights accommodation on a full board basis. Carcass is famous for its food which is delicious and plentifully made using the farms own organically produced meat, dairy produce and vegetabales.

OPTIONAL day excursion by boat to West Point Island available.

Monday

Carcass Island – explore at leisure OR optional boat trip to West Point

Carcass Island offers stunning scenery with views to West Falklands, Saunders Island and Jason Islands. It is also a good destination for hill walking, having peaks to provide a gentle challenges whilst being small enough to explore fully.

Tuesday

Internal FIGAS flight to Sea Lion Island for 2 nights on a full board basis.

Sea Lion Island, the most southerly inhabited island in the Falklands Island group, is 5 miles longs and just over a mile wide at its widest point– just the right size to explore at your leisure.

The Island is home to the largest colony of elephant seals in the Falklands. Small groups of the rare Southern sea lion breed can also be seen on the rocky coastal ledges.

Wednesday

Sea Lion Island – explore at leisure

If you are lucky you may see pods of killer whales, which circle the island in search of seals and penguins. There are also large breeding colonies of rockhoppers, gentoo, and Magellanic penguins, some of which are within walking distance from the lodge.

Thursday

Internal flight to Stanley and transfer to your chosen accommodation for 2 nights

Friday

Full day excursion by 4 x 4 vehicle with driver/guide to Volunteer Point – largest King penguin colony. ALTERNTIVE wildlife locations such as Cape Bougainville and Cape Dolphin available

Saturday

Morning - leisure time in Stanley

Afternoon - transfer to Mount Pleasant International Airport for your return LAN Chile flight.
