Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2 days

DAY 1 - CUSCO - CHACHABAMBA - WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES

 

We will pick you up at your hotel for our short shuttle to Cusco's San Pedro train station. You will ride the train for 104 kilometers (4 hours), and then get off at the trailhead to start the trek up to the Wiñaywayna archeological complex.

Comparison of the Trains to Machu Picchu

Although this is a short trek it is absolutely beautiful and not too easy as there are 3 hours climb uphill. Pasasing through the Sun Gate for the classic view of Machu Picchu we then walk down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night in a hotel of your choosing, or trust our suggestion.

DAY 2 - AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES - CUSCO

We will take the first bus from Aguas Calientes up to Machu Picchu. You will enjoy a professionally guided two and a half hour visit of the incredible Machu Picchu sanctuary. There is also an optional hike for even more energetic and adventurous people to the top of the Huayna Picchu peak - the pyramid-shaped mountain that overlooks Machu Picchu. After your visit you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath at the local hot springs. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Cusco. We will shuttle you from the Cusco train station, or Poroy station, to your hotel for a well earned rest. B
