Donovan,

My family returned from their Galapagos adventure safely and with tales to tell. Your suggestion for the land option (Red Mangrove Hotel) on the islands was a perfection solution to my motion sensitive daughter. Everyone loved the hotel Iguana Crossing, all felt they could have stayed there longer. The chef in Iguana Crossing restaurant is superb. Thank you for your assistance in putting together this fabulous trip for my family.

Regards,

Michael-Anne

Dear Sam,

My daughter Svan and I had a wonderful time in Peru!! Loved the food, people, scenery, history...everything.  The guides, porters, drivers, hotel staff and agents were all so helpful and professional. We felt perfectly safe and well cared for the entire time.

The Inca Trail was spectacular! There aren't words to describe how wonderful it was. We were so pleased to have our own guide on the trail for the three people in our party.

We are telling everyone how much we loved Peru and are recommending you highly!!

Thanks again!!

Tereasa Simonson

Dear Andrew,

Having just got back late last night from Peru, I wanted to say what an excellent holiday it was. Everything went well and I was very impressed by the arrangements and organisation: every trime I arrived at an airport or railway station, my name was prominently displayed by the person waiting to take me to my next destination. Machu Picchu was even more amazing than I imagined and the train trip to Puno on the Andean Explorer was tremendous: we all expected Hercule Poirot to emerge from the dining car! My only regret was that I couldn't spend longer in the country. Maybe another time..... I found the Peruvians very welcoming too - on a 'leisure day' in Cuzco I took a bus to Tipon and found myself joining the local Peruvians for lunch in a little restaurant on the way back to Cuzco - we all ate guinea-pig!

I would be very pleased to recommend Simply Latin America to friends wanting to visit and I must see what other destinations you go to. The only other people I met who definitely were with 'Simply' (on the boat trip on Lake Titicaca) were also very pleased with everything.

Yours,

Andrew Pike

“Thank you for all your efforts. I must admit that I was slightly hesitant to communicate with an unknown persons and organisation through the internet. However, my concerns were not necessary. As a leading principal in the education union sector in South Africa and as a member of both Education International and the International Labour Organization, I will advocate the services of Simply Latin America on our return to South Africa as I believe that good service should always be acknowledged and rewarded.

Best wishes and thank you once again.

Dear Donovan.

Thank you for the amazing holiday you organized for us. Every step was professionally thought and realized. We never felt left alone and all tour guides without exception were exceptional. Without any hesitation I would recommend you to our friends.

Best regards,

Dear all,

It was one of the best trips we have ever had. Everything was handled superbly. The only hitch was the railroad strike which prevented us from staying at Machu Picchu the extra night. Janet was excellent. Your partners in Ecuador are a class operation. We thank you and will be happy to recommend you to our friends

The Balendu Family, USA

Hi Donovan

I want to thank you for upgrading us to business class on the flight from Lima to Ecuador. I think that was the flight we have had so many I do get mixed up. We have never flown business class before.....for financial reasons not because we wouldn´t if we could........ and it was a treat.

So far everything about the trip has been first class. The hotel choices were good. The boat worked out well in the Galapagos. The food was delicous every day so now I am really a fatty.

The guide in the sacred valley part of the trip.... Shirley.... went above and beyond the call of duty for me. I purchased a bracelet in Pisac at a store where she was friends with the owner. Later if fell off because the clasp was faulty. Since it was her friend who owned the shop I asked her to take it back after she left us and have them fix it and leave it at the hotel in Cusco .... or mail it to me in the US. She got it fixed while we were at Machu Picchu and it was at the hotel before we left. I called Shirley when we got to Lima to thank her.

Dear Andrew,

Just a note of thanks to let you know that our adventure to Peru went off perfectly. We were met and taken excellent care of at every stop and the acccommodations and service were outstanding. We especially enjoyed the Hiram Bingham Train.

Great job.

Sincerely

Tom Stobbe and Christine Trapp, Germany.

Hi Donovan,

Just wanted to say thanks for a great trip. We really enjoyed Peru - everything worked out great. The hotels, tours and guides were all top notch and having everything taken care of before we got there really helped us to just enjoy the time we were there.

Thanks again to Simply Latin America.

Dear Steve,

Thanks you for a great trip to Peru. All the bookings went smoothly and we enjoyed the expertise of Jose and all your drivers. The outbound connection worked well.

Thanks again to Simply Latin America.

Hello Andrew,

Well, you did it - put together an incredible trip! From the moment we were greeted at the Quito Airport to the time we left Cusco the trip was perfect. The Hotel Mansion del Angel was beautiful, the staff very helpful. The owner himself assisted us on the 17th with taxis to the city center.

The transfer to the Anahi was flawless. The Anahi itself was exactly what we had been hoping for. The staterooms were lovely, spacious and clean. The food was excellent. The staff did everything they could be make our trip memorable. The itinerary was perfect, visiting two sites every day and snorkeling most days. We experienced all the animals of the Galapagos including swimming with sharks, a manta ray and penguins. Even the weather was wonderful, sunny and warm with just one day of showers.

When we arrived in Cusco we were met by an experienced guide who took us to the lovely Casa San Blas. We loved this hotel, even though it was on a very steep street and we all suffered from altitude sickness to some degree. We were given cocoa tea and made very comfortable for the time we were there. Use of the internet was a welcome plus. The breakfast was very good. Elisia, our guide, went out of her way to help us. The City Tour was informative and exhausting. The Sacred Valley tour was excellent. The guide was very good, giving us lots of information and answering all our questions. It was wonderful to see the local people returning from the fields at sunset with their animals laden with the crops of the day. They were quick with a smile or a wave. One little boy had built a "speed bump" out of stones across the dirt road to the salt mines and he had such a big smile when we had to slow down for it - charming.

And I can't say enough about the Hiram Bingham Train. While our overnight bags, which they provided, were stowed, we were greeted with champagne and orange juice and shown to our seats in a lovely dining car, which we had to ourselves. The scenery was spectacular on the way to Aquas Calientes. Many of us spent the entire time in the observation car. We even danced and became part of the entertainment (I played the cowbell). The food and wine were wonderful. The bus ride to Machu Picchu was exciting, hairpin turns with no guard rails. And I can't even describe Machu Picchu itself. I live near the Grand Canyon in Arizona and am never able to tell people how magnificent it is. Machu Picchu is like that. You just have to experience it for yourself. Again, our guide was interesting and informative.

The check-in at the Inkaterra Pueblo Lodge was handled with ease. The walk to our rooms through the grounds at night only increased our anticipation of seeing the place in the daytime. The accommodations were wonderful, large bright rooms, again with robes and slippers, comfortable beds and enough citron scent to knock out any unsuspecting mosquito. My room on the second floor had two comfortable armchairs in a lovely glassed-in alcove which overlooked part of the property. Again, each room was individual and charming. Dinner that night in the Lodge dining room was a bit disappointing, good but not as good as the food we had experienced through the rest of the trip. The wait staff was excellent and the Pisco Sours good (I could get use to drinking those).

The second day there many of our group went on the Spectacled Bear tour and very much enjoyed it. My sister and I opted to sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast and wander the grounds on our own. Well, that didn't happen. As soon as I pulled the drapes aside on my little alcove I was bombarded by the sight and sound of birds, the lush tropical landscape and an amazing creature that resembled a pig on the walk below. I couldn't get away from the window. So much for sleeping in. Breakfast was delicious. We did wander the grounds, saw the herb garden, the end of a tea roasting session, and the sacred rock and waterfall above it. It was paradise. Everyone did a bit of shopping in the afternoon on our side of the river - very friendly vendors and good prices.

We encountered one glitch in the agenda. We were told that the bus ride and entrance fee to Machu Picchu were not covered the second day. The consierge made a call (to your offices) while we were having dinner the first night and before we were finished, a local guide appeared and talked with the three people who wanted to go back. He made all arrangements, including refunding money for one of us who had left her entrance ticket behind. He actually went with them to Machu Picchu the next day. This was really above and beyond. We have decided that you are a member of the Peruvian Mafia to be able to pull off such service.

The Hiram Bingham train ride back to Cusco was again wonderful. Again, it was a pity that daylight was so short and we returned in total darkness. The food was excellent and we took full advantage of the unlimited liquor.

You will be hearing from other members of the group if you haven't already. Everyone agreed that this was a wonderful trip and that we would happily recommend you to friends and family and anyone else who will listen to our experiences. Thank you, thank you.

I got married in Cuzco and wished for some of my speech to be written in Spanish. Suddenly Gary from the company was writing part of my wedding speech! It all went off beautifully. Thanks to all at Simply Latin America. Top marks all round.

Brendan Cunningham, Ireland

Your recommendations were right on the button with our expectations. The accommodations were great, the food was delicious and plentiful and - I don't know how you managed it - the weather was perfect!

Garvey Family, USA

You planned our itinerary extremely well, down to the last detail! My family and I were very happy with the services you provided. We had such a positive experience working with you and you really took care of us. Steph we were impressed with the accessibility we had to you and your office via phone or e-mail, 24/7.

Sela Longacre, California

Thanks so much for organising a once in a life time trip. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly, with some great stories. The porters always had a smile on their faces and somehow managed to carry all the equipment with no complaints. And also provided at least 2 courses for each meal. The best we´ve eaten in Peru! We were in a group of 6, which was just the right amount.

Overall, the trip was unforgetable. From the very beginning Simply Latin America were in contact with us and kept us up to date. We would highly recommend them. Thanks again.

Grace Strachan, UK

The tour was all we hoped for. Your representatives were prompt and courteous and made every effort to ensure we were safe and comfortable. Individual accolades to Juan in Lima and William in Cusco. They represented your firm most excellently with service above and beyond!!

Our itinerary was demanding but your recommendations were right on the button with our expectations. The accommodations were great, the food was delicious and plentiful and - I don't know how you managed it - the weather was perfect!

Thanks for a great trip. We'd recommend you to anyone.

Best Regards - Howard Garvey and family, USA

Dear Simply Latin America

Peru was absolutely stunning, especially the countryside! I honestly think that of all the countries we've visited so far, Peru is the prettiest. There's just something about all that green and the mountains that drew me. The scenery on the train to Cusco and Puno was beautiful, as well as in the Sacred Valley.

You planned our itinerary extremely well, down to the last detail! My family and I were very happy with the services you provided. We had such a positive experience working with you and you really took care of us. Gary we were impressed with the accessibility we had to you and your office staff via phone or e-mail, 24/7. You did a phenomenal job in ensuring that we were looked after every step of the way, and it's that attention to detail that really made our travels through Peru so wonderful. Already at work I'm singing your praises to my teachers and my fellow principals.

Too bad you don't plan trips to England, Africa, or New Zealand! I would so sign up with you again.

Sela Longacre, Tustin, California, USA

Thanks for dropping by the other day to chat and go over things. Great to meet you. Both Kelly and I are just having a blast with the trip so far. You did a bang up job getting us through wonderful parts of Peru, we have great stories and hopefully can make it back down here some day....we will probably grab a quick siesta in a bit, then go out to party in a few hours.

Happy New Year and thanks for everything, you have helped make this one amazing vacation for both of us.

Matt and Kelly Hammond, USA

Hello Andrew,

First off thank you again, we had a great time in Peru and we are now back to reality, Sam already left Colombia for work in America and Ill be working tomorrow. Everything went off as planned, and we enjoyed every minute of our honeymoon.

Gabriel and Samantha, Medellin, Colombia

My husband and I want to give a big THANK YOU to Simply Latin America for their awesome services. Before I came into contact with the comany, I had researched Peru and read many blogs from previous tourists to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. By this time I had a good idea of the itinerary we wanted to follow, but I did not know how to go about making all the reservations and connections, especially in a foreign country. When Donovan was referred to me I emailed my tentative itinerary and he “took off with it”. Based on his experience and vast knowledge of the area and tourism, he made some great suggestions to enhance our trip and make good use of our time while in Peru. The best part was having a customized tour just for us at a very reasonable price. Every detail was taken care of and our trip was flawless, allowing us to enjoy the wonder of Peru without any concerns or worries. Thanks again!

Valerie & Winn Spackman, Utah, USA

Hello again, I wanted to say thank you for making my trip to Peru a very pleasurable experience. Everything worked out just perfect and I had a wonderful worry free time. I definitely will recomend your services to all of my friends. Thanks again - Eliza Wojcik.

P.S. Some people, like Hugo from El Lago in Puno or Abraham from Cusco were extraordinary with their help.

Thanks again

Eliza Wojcik, USA

Dear Gary,The song may have ended, but the melody lingers on--the haunting melody of Andean flutes, so evocative of my recent trip to Peru. A million thanks for helping me realize a decades-old dream, to visit Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Lake Titicaca. Your on-the-ground arrangements reflected everything I'd requested--and your flexibility enabled me to tweak the schedule or guide arrangements as needed. Accommodations were just right, your suggestions on point--in short, this was a wonderful trip on many levels.

Above all, Gary, your responsiveness and knowledge, along with a great sense of humor, made me feel totally confident about being solo, 67, and on the road.

Feel free to use me as a reference or to excerpt this note for your own marketing--you deserve all. Until the next visit to your magical country, take care.

Warm regards,

Lynn Lewis, United States

I want to thank you for the excellent tours that I had while I was in Cusco and Lima. The guides were well versed and informative. Your company made for a fantastic trip that I will always remember. If only the airlines could do as well, but that is a different story.

Thank you,

Randy Stephens, USA

Simply Latin America offered a fabulous personal service, with immediate contact available by telephone if required. Our party contained a disabled member in a wheelchair, and thus we were worried about what facilities would be available. However, every possible effort was made to make our travel and our visits as smooth and possible, with hotels that were chosen for their excellent access and service. SLA made our holiday a true success!

The Howarth family, UK

I'd like to pay particular thanks to Gary and Malka from simplylatinamerica.com who helped us with all our holiday planning in Cuzco and Puno. They helped us book a number of tours and hotels as well as providing additional services such as translation skills when we needed them.

No job was too much for Gary. It is refreshing to see a tour operator who goes the extra mile. I'm sure we were awkward customers at time, after all we changed our plans at the last minute on more than one occasion. Gary's response was to help us with all changes and even managed to get a refund for us after we cancelled a hotel. That's easier said than done considering we gave the hotel a day's cancellation notice! They would help with anything we asked. I got married in Cuzco and wished for some of my wedding speech in Spanish. Suddenly Gary was writing part of my wedding speech! Full marks there!

If I ever return to Cuzco I will definitely be writting to the website for all my tourist needs. They offered a very reasonable service in terms of the cost, and it was also a very professional organisation to deal with. My advice is to get them to help book your Inca Trail, accomodation and transport to/from Cuzco. They even sorted out our Puno accomodation and Titicaca tour.

Thanks to all at Simply Latin America. Top marks all round.

Brendan Cunningham, Ireland

I can’t recommend Simply Latin America highly enough. Andrew and his staff made what could have been a very stressful trip (family visiting from the UK and travelling with 3 children under 4) an experience that we will all remember for a long time. The hotels were perfect in location and ambience. The tailor-made trip around the Sacred Valley was ideal for us, and they were able to accommodate all our needs, even a private tour guide at Machu Picchu which was breath taking. I wish to thank everyone at Simply Latin America for giving us memories that my family and I will treasure.

Sarah Newsham, UK

Simply Latin America organised a great trip for us, with all hotels and transfers. Lima -Paracas - Huacachina - Nazca - Arequipa - Cusco - Machu Picchu - Puerto Maldonado, and ending up in Puno. The hotels were of good standard and the tour guides along the way were excellent. Staff were always accessible and ready to give advice. We would highly recommend Simply Latin America.

Guy Gilbert and family, Melbourne, Australia

I was very impressed with the excellent and personal service that I received from Simply Latin America. When my airline temporarily lost my luggage, I was even loaned a lot of personal gear for a trek that I then was able to do. A big thumbs up!

Jonas Funk, Portland, OR

You are fantastic. I think you wonderfully filled my time.....If you are not the boss, you should be.

John Williams, Wellington, New Zealand

In the event that I return to Peru (just a matter of time, I think), I will make a point of contacting you again. I very much appreciated both your recommendations and your ability to "put it all together" - hotels, tours, airport pickup, advice, etc. With so much to do and see, it was an excellent stroke of luck to find you and to work through you to fit our plans together so smoothly. One final thanks for your role in making our visit one to remember so positively.

Best regards, Lynn and Michelle Phillips, USA

We are so glad to have met both you and your lovely wife for drinks at Pepe Zeta. We want to thank you once again for the great job you did in putting together our package in Cusco. Everything went off like clockwork, and the folks we met could not have been more friendly and helpful. How you are able to co-ordinate so many things is astounding. We were happy to refer our friend, Ralph, to you. Certainly, if any of our friends show a desire to visit Peru, we will of course refer them to you. That would only be fair to both you and them. We shall let you know the next time we come to Peru, so that you can set up the various aspects of our return.

Fondly, Carole and Ron Michail

P.S. We took your recommendation in Lima and ate at Las Tejas. You were right again, the meal was fabulous.

Our family of two adults and four children really appreciated the way Gary was able to find suitable hotels and tours for our family including where to experience Guinea Pig! We also really enjoyed the Inca Trail and particularly our guide Sylvia. Thanks again Gary. We will certainly be recommending your services to our friends when they come to Peru.

The Powell Family, Adelaide, Australia

Hi Andrew

I wanted to thank you for your help in arranging our recent trip to Cuzco and Machu Picchu. The Casona Real was fine for our stay, and the location was ideal.

The bus train tour to Machu Picchu worked very well. THe tour was well organized and efficient and comforatable. We were last in MP 27 years ago, it was amazing to see how the tourist facilities have improved. The Mercedes buses from Aguas Calientes to MP were a far cry from the open air buses from 1980.

Sincerely,

Jim and Monica Hlavacek, Salinas, CA

Donovan, You are the best- I hope to personally thank you

Nick Auge

Simplylatinamerica.com has helped me on a couple of occasions and I have always found their service to be exceptional. In fact we have just concluded a trip which they organised for us at very short notice and it was a great success.

Maybe it's because he is an ex-pat himself but Andrew seemed to know just what we were looking for. He picked hotels for us that were a little bit different from the usual backpacker places, hotels with a good ambience, friendly owners and a good range of tours available. The tour company that he used for a trip to the Colca Canyon was particularly good, with extremely helpful and friendly staff.

We shall definitely be using his expertise and local knowledge again and I cannot recommend him too highly.
